Want to be on TV?
Share a story!
Good morning / 早上好 / Bonjour / ਸ਼ੁਭ ਸਵੇਰ / Buen día friend!
I’m wondering if you’d like to be featured in major Canadian news outlets.
Our good friends in the media are always on the search for some great stories.
Do you have one that is particularly unique? I want to hear from you.
About rentals or outside of the rental industry, all fair game.
Some example topics that could be picked up are:
Drug related activities
Dangerous pets
Illegal rooming houses / overcrowding
Bad-faith evictions (fake personal use)
Hoarding / fire hazards
Illegal subletting / Airbnb schemes
Meth labs / contamination
Fraudulent licensee activities
Unfortunately, your typical “my landlord doesn’t take care of maintenance”, “my tenant hasn’t paid rent”, or “the system is broken” stories are not quite good enough.
Let me know what you’ve got - simply respond back to this email with 3 sentences of general details of what happened.
You’ll need to be OK to be on TV.
If you’ve got photos to share, send me a couple and I’ll forward it off.
If you don’t hear from me after your pitch, it means the news outlet didn’t pick up your story.
This newsletter is made possible by:

An event coming up that I’m hosting. Very limited seats as it’s a live workshop. I’ll deep dive into the video content engine I’ve built; plus a couple guests will demo what they’ve built in the real estate industry.
I promise you won’t be disappointed. Plus, you’ll leave the virtual workshop having built something of your own. If you didn’t have a good time, I’ll refund your ticket back - I promise!
See you soon!

Openroom collects public tenancy records and connects them to the broader financial credit system to help you make informed decisions on who to rent from and rent to.
We enable you to screen tenants or future landlords, help you report rental debt, give rewards to great residents, or bundle it all into BureauEdge.
We also educate about rental housing and we advocate for a more transparent and connected rental ecosystem to support both responsible housing providers and residents.
